Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eyelining and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips, and eyelids. It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost it as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia (no hair growth on body), chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo (loss of pigment). It is also used to restore or enhance the breast's areola, such as after breast surgery.
Most commonly called permanent cosmetics, other names include dermapigmentation, micropigmentation, and cosmetic tattooing (the latter being most appropriate since permanent makeup is, in fact, tattooing.) In the United States and other countries, the inks used in permanent makeup and the pigments in these inks are subject to FDA or similar agency regulation as cosmetics and color additives. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permanent_makeup

I wanted to show you Kenda's artistry. The only word is fabulous. Maintaining my "hair" brows is sooo easy. I have a template to follow to maintain perfect brows. The reaction I am getting from strangers is interesting. The sophisticated look seems to make an immediate impression. Even the gas station attendants are treating me better and more promptly. I can't wait to go to Macy's. I suspect I won't be kept waiting. I like my new look so much I got a new hair style. Something that created more of a frame for my face was in order. My stylist created a style that frames my face which now has a balanced and symmetrical appearance. Kenda, thank you isn't sufficient. You really made a difference in how I perceive my self. I love the convenience of doing my make up in a minute or two with full make up, but feeling good about my appearance is much more important. I am greatly appreciative. If any of you decide to have the make up applied, I strongly recommend it. Lu Ann, MA
